Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as its Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. She is a reporter covering everything from NASA, the Space Force and commercial space businesses to the rise of space tourism. Kristin was her mother was one of NASA astronauts, and also a space enthusiast has spent her entire childhood in the industry. She worked for five years as the White House correspondent for FOX News covering space policy in the Biden and Trump administrations. Kristin also covered presidential impeachment proceedings, the 2020 Presidential campaign and efforts by two administrations in order to stop the spread of the Coronavirus. Her extensive travels with the Vice President and the President included an exclusive trip to Afghanistan that she made with Donald Trump. Kristin was a television reporter in Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, Washington, D.C., in which she was awarded an Emmy Award for her work as a "one-man-band" reporter, before joining CBS in the year 2015. Kristin utilized her knowledge in the field to create Field Mouse Films. The company was a specialist in documentary films, and became a preferred choice among corporate clients, including Uber, Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin earned her Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Boston University. She lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband and three year old daughter.
